Server Characteristics
Description
After years of playing SCUM, it occurs to us that there's a "three bears problem" with most SCUM roleplay. Servers tend to be either a.) too "sandboxy" and PVE-oriented, where everything feels too safe, cozy, and easy... or they're b.) "hard-core torture chambers" where arbitrary sadistic measures are the norm and there's no rhyme, reason, or thoughtfulness... just a desire to make things "hard for the sake of hard."
Prophets Roleplay hits different. If you're looking for a PVE "town simulator," this ain't it. If you're looking for a PvP "free-for-all," keep searching. If you're looking for a forced RP world that someone else drives your story whether you like it or not, keep cruising. This place is the balance point.
- Full-time roleplay, with PvP area (NO PvE)
- Mature adult Admins are real daily players (~20k hours in SCUM), have published guidelines, and logs are available to players.
- Economy is realistic and player commerce is encouraged through both culture AND thoughtful, well articulated macro-economy... BUT
- Danger exists too: Damage and lock-picking are enabled. Interact realistically and carefully. Kidnappings, robberies, and outright bar fights might leave you in a pile of blood, losing your kit. Crime is possible... BUT
- (and this is a big-ol' BUT), these things have consequences here. Career criminals? Nah. We have IC repercussions for that. No griefing or horseshit RP. ...F.A.F.O.
- Highly customized and realistic looting experience, where NPC's, puppets, and locations actually drop what you'd expect. No more killing a military armored puppet and getting a piece of scrap and a needle. No more disarming Beepers only to NEVER find an actual C4.
- Puppets are then before you arrive at a town, so you have choices about how to procees, and long-range optics actually matter (if you want them to. Swords work too.)
- In-world bot and player shops
- Custom Quests, Dead Drops and "2nd layer/deep RP" in the form of optional underlying societies, etc.
- Buses (taxis) can't magically whisk you to locations. You have to be at a bus stop.
- Vehicle registration and insurance can replace your vehicles, but fraud isn't very lucrative (because the Insurance Company RP's to minimize fraud.)
Things make sense here.
If this seems like your brand of vodka, pull up, respond to the rules, jump in, grab your welcome pack, and start your story.
